Close Your Eyes

My only thought tonight...

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you can close your eyes and see it....but, also know that it will never happen?

Frustrating.

Wanting something makes life exciting but never getting that something leads to disappointment...emotional exhaustion.

Ugh.

Well, I can close my eyes once again and see...

Faith

So today my "soul sister" did two things...chemo and returned to work for the first time since July 6. I am amazed and inspired by her strength.

I sometimes get stressed and exhausted by my life...but my life is nothing compared to what she is dealing with.

My hopes...

-that SHE is able to live her life like SHE wants

-that I learn patience and dignity from her

-that my faith is as strong as I hope it is

-that she is free from pain as long as possible

-that I see her walk across that UTSA stage!

-that I am the friend she needs; never losing sight of her goals, her wishes, her fight

-that I don't get lost in what is unimportant in life....in comparison, I am healthy and free from what she is battling; for that I am blessed and thankful. But, as I fight this with her, I will not forget what is truly important in life...

I haven't made my thankful list in quite a while so I thought I should revisit that!

I am thankful for...
Two amazing kids that act like me; stubborn and outspoken!

That I have survived 3 weeks with no air conditioning!

A job!

My favorite car yet! Why waste money on something that isn't fun?

Friends that keep me grounded, aren't afraid to bring me down to reality and are so freaking nice to me!

Soooooo, it is so shocking to me when I meet someone new that I absolutely adore and cannot figure out how I never knew this person before. How do people travel in similar circles but never cross paths for years....hmmmmm.

Well, even though I wish we would have met years ago, I am still super happy that we did meet...become friends, and fill the somewhat boring days with laughter, sarcasm, and funny stories!

New Friends certainly = good times!
